Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I love the pictures & the story & your kids! :love Whats next? A feast???

YES! We have been fasting for 40 days, so we were very excited about the feast.

Youngest made deviled eggs all by himself (he is 10). He made some ducklings and some as chicks.

We also made mac and cheese with pork smoked for 10 hours! (Dang good!) Most of the BBQing was done by kid 3.

We also made Texas Queso...I was feeling nostalgic. So sausage, cream cheese, and rotel. :drool

@Alaskan -Those boys of yours are just amazing Al :hugs
Good job to you and the spouse.

Thanks! I sure was please with them

Ok cant drive so been thinking.... I love Chimineas and I love Talavera Chimineas.... What about a Talavera Chiminea for a nesting box....

They are hard glazed so sterilizeable.... Room enough for a hen to get comfortable.... In this hot climate the air would pass through the big opening and up and out the Chiminea.... Of course there would have to be an anti roost cap hung over the top....

What do you think? Outside of it being totally impractical.....
deb

I think it looks perfect. I don't think you would need an anti-trust cap...as long as the roost was higher than the top
He did take awhile. He hatched sometime this afternoon.

The only one? Eek!

Oh sooo impractical though... Id have to have at least two each for three breed pens .... at 125 each.... :th
Maybe you could get slightly chipped ones for free or almost...or at garage sales or good will?

Not only are Alaskan's kids amazing, they are so good looking too. Do they favor your wife or you Al?

They are actually a good mix of us two.

So overwhelmingly touching.
Luv it!

Thanks! Kid 4 took over the Easter egg hunt and did a good job corralling the little ones. Kid 5 continued in "big brother" roll and helped the little boy he was taking care of find eggs.

Us adults sat back and drank some great homemade wine!

:idunno:frow I was here then gone now here . Never sure where I am at any given moment :idunno Easter Sunday the nanny goat had triplets, just before we were supposed to go to the family dinner .To make matters worse, Me and DW had to leave early Monday At 4 a.m. morning for Illinois . Three hundred miles and be there by 10:30 and back home before to late . 600 miles :th. I didn't sleep much Saturday or Sunday night . AND DW makes A terrible carpool lane dummy. Started yelling at me to slow down two minutes on the interstate :rant So I had to explain to her what a carpool lane dummy's duties are . And Bob Evans don't know how to make sausage gravy atall :sick I didn't fall asleep at the wheel not once .Carpool dummy kept yelling at me and screaming all the way . And all I did was hit the rumble strip a couple of times  And let me tell you Kentucky might as well dig up what's left between the pot holes :he Which ain't much, and maybe the road would be better. On the plus side the truck did ride better on the way back with the compressor loaded on it .And I did get a picture or two. Even got off the interstate to site see a little bit . Really it was a good trip. Had DW laughing when I started telling her she just wasn't cut out to be a carpool lane dummy ,and better find another profession :lau And ifin Phil can I can , Here's my rendition of the inner man

I still don't have pictures of the new triplets . One is so tiny half the size of the other two .The nanny is trying to abandon it too . The kid is persistent and waits for one the other two to nurse, and slips in but she isn't getting enough .:thSo before I let them out and when I feed her in the evening I hold the nanny so the doeling can nurse . Maybe tomorrow I take some pictures tomorrow. Ill start trying to supplement it with mike replacer . Bed time now though .
