Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Thank you guys for listening & for your concern. :hugsThank you especially Deb! :hit :hugs
I call them 5150 people which is the code with the police for Crazy.

I had a 5150 lady which shared a property line with me. We all own rights to the easement called Tea rose lane... Up to the property line. I am the last resident on Tea rose. Yet she claimed to own the Whole road and would pull up on anyone driving on it and stop them and inform them they were tresspassing including me. I informed her that I too own the whole road up to my house... After showing me her gun she got in the truck and left.

She eventually hung herself by her own irrational actions lost her place to forecloseure. Abandonded her queensland heelers in their kennels.... And found an Elderly man to leach off of. Oh she did take her horses....

her dogs were sent to animal control by the realtor.

When I accidentally killed one of her dogs I went to the sherrif and let them know what happened. and whos dog it was. When he heard her name his eyes got big and he nodded his head. Good idea comeing her first....

So Dont wait to file a report. PLEASE.

How does the farm stuff get done with the camp and then alaska?
Usually, the crop is all planted before camp, so I’m home to help. This year was super late getting planted because it was so wet. DH just finished beans today. He is able to get it done without me, it just takes longer.

We have a trustworthy neighbor living in our house who will take care of the dog and cat, and my mom has offered to take care of my chickens.

We have a co-op where we buy seed and hire spraying and fertilizing done. The agronomist there will keep an eye out for aphids on the beans and spray if needed. Crops won’t be ready to harvest until we get home.

Having a neighbor you can trust with your animals is an enormous asset. I would like to get away occasionally but there are only two people I know who are capable enough and reliable enough for me to ask.

I don’t have quite the same situation as you do, Shad. I have a dog, a cat, two horses (that may be going to a new home soon, but that’s another story) and 15 chickens (unless the one that disappeared 3 weeks ago shows up with chicks).

You wont believe the night I’ve had! I have a crazy neighbor who lives down at the bottom of my street (not on my actual road but the road x mine) He’s apparently off his meds & decided that no one in my culdesac is allowed to put trash cans at the bottom of our easement road anymore because he can see them from his kitchen. We have to leave them at the bottom of our road because its the only way waste management will take them. In his deluded mind he’s decided that he owns our easement. (Like I said, crazy.) Incidentally, we have a new neighbor in the culdesac who leaves his cans down the street all week because they don't know any better. So anyway, a couple days ago Crazy Neighbor waits till he see's me leave then drags the new neighbors cans up my hill & puts them in front of my house. My long time, good neighbor put a note on the cans letting the new neighbor know they have to take their cans home after trash day... No big.

Well tonights trash night & we all drag our cans down the road. Crazy Neighbor waits till he see's DH leave & immediately starts dragging everybodys cans up in front of my house. So I go out there & I try to talk to him & he smells like alcohol, is irrational & freaking screaming at me. I was telling him that I understand he's frustrated & he should just explain to the new neighbor that's there's a problem, but he kept screaming at me & wouldnt listen & so I started getting pissed because he's being a huge bully, threatening me, trespassing & touching my property. I say, "John those are MY cans that I pay for, you need to stop touching them. If you keep dragging them up here, I'm gonna keep dragging them back down. I've got all night & don't think for a second I wont freaking do it." So for 10+mins we proceed to drag the trash up & down the road. The whole time we're screaming at each other & he’s threatening me that I’m in trouble & I need to back down. Blah! Blah! Blah!. I'd let him get one can all the way up the hill (because I wasn't gonna wrestle him for them) & when he'd go down for another I'd take one back down. He was screaming accusations at me & sweating & huffing & puffing up & down my road & I swear to God I was hoping he'd have a heart attack & drop freaking dead right in front of me, but no such luck.

So I finally call my good neighbor & say I’m dealing with a crazy person, I need you out here. When he comes out he says, "Oh! This guy! This guys ****ing crazy! He threatened me with physical violence yesterday, just leave the cans"... but I cant, because I don't do bully's, EVER. In the meantime Crazy Neighbor is still screaming threats & accusations & pointing out houses that he's reported to county code enforcement because he has a friend in the department & can get people in trouble & he's gonna call them on me & all the other neighbors. Then he says he's calling the Sheriff & I tell him, “Good! Please do so that I don't have to.”

At this point DH starts driving up the road & he see's Crazy Neighbor in the middle of the street with someones trashcan & has no idea that he's drunk & that its all hitting the fan. He tries to reason with him, but theres nothing doing & then he sees me in the process of dragging a can down the road. He knows instantly that if I'm out there with Crazy Neighbor, in the dark, that there's a problem. Crazy is yelling that we've "abused our privileges" on his easement (not his) & that DH needs to get his wife under control. Crazy Neighbor then charges over to me & starts trying to yank my trash can out of my hand. I wouldn't let go of it & he started like he was gonna come at me, but I stood my ground. Luckily we were in DH's blind spot & he couldn't see what was going on or the chit REALLY would have hit the fan. Crazy Neighbor must've realized that I wasn't letting go & that if he hit me he'd be going to jail, so at that point he let go & walked back to the car to start yelling at DH again.

He eventually walked away screaming that he was calling the city & calling the Sherriff & that we were in trouble & I was screaming, “Do it! Call them! Please! Call them right now!” Well 3hrs later & theres still no Sherriff, but I have no doubt he will call the city & try to file complaints because that’s the p*ssy way of exacting his revenge on a neighbor whos never been anything but nice to him. He knows darn well we always pull our trash cans up as soon as they’re dumped, but he doesn’t care. He’s truly acting like a raging lunatic.
:barnie
I know I can pretty much kiss our beautiful, beloved rooster goodbye now & with the VND quarantine in the next county over theres no one who will be willing to rehome him. To say that my kids are devastated & I mean DEVESTATED would be an extreme understatement. :hit Sorry this is so long.
Good on you for standing your ground Roomy.:clap
However, this guy doesn't sound like he's playing with a full deck and I think you should report him to the police. It might also be an idea to let your husband take the trash out.

Some of the educator badges were awarded long ago, before the site was so huge. But all educators can’t know everything. We all have our areas of expertise. There are some sections I never even visit because I’m not qualified to answer the questions. Does that mean I don’t deserve my educator badge?
I have no idea if you deserve your Educators badge or not tbh. I assume your area of expertise is ducks (?) I don't know much about ducks so I'm not in a position to make an assessment.
It also depends on what you believe the Educator badges are awarded for.
From what I've seen the main criteria is supporting the objectives and ethos of the site.
If for example you were extraordinarily well informed regarding chicken health but were completely against the transport of chicks in the mail and wanted to ban the sale of chicks out of bins in the farm stores I don't think you would get an Educators badge. You would however be right about the health and welfare of the chicken.
So, despite what the badge says, I think it has more to do with site ethos support and being pleasant to the posters than being exceptionally knowledgeable in a particular field.
For the post that kicked me off, the level of knowledge for that topic was basic; most who have had broody hens or incubated chicks would know this. There is also the matter of making some effort to keep informed on recent research.
So, it's not as simple as deserving a badge because you know your stuff.

Well, with the badge does come a level of responsibility to act decently to others. Being nasty to other posters is just rude. There are ways to disagree without being an Ahole about it.
So if that means supporting the site, then so be it.

And fyi, I do own ducks and the duck forums here are much less abundant than the chicken stuff, so I do sometimes assist in that area, but the area that I feel more comfortable advising in is incubating chicks and ducks. I incubate and deal with broodies pretty much year round. Many times, it comes down to helping calm a new member during a hatch, and just holding their hand from afar. It feels pretty good to me to help someone have a successful hatch.
