Thanks. I was desperate to help her & didn't know what else to do. She would lay in there alone for an hour, panicked & trying to figure out where she was. Now, she reads the sign & comes right out. Its such a small thing that is a huge help.

Had someone break open my storage unit in front of my apartment. they only stole my bowling ball, not enough to waste the cops time calling it in... and they somehow got past the dead bolt on the door without breaking it or the door frame lock or door...

Ugh! Hugs! Has she been there yet, or is this her 1st time? I guess with the dementia it will be like her 1st time whether she's been there or not. You might consider propping up a little sign next to her bed where she can see it the second she wakes up saying something like, "Good morning mom. I hope you have a great day today at (brothers) new house in Texas." We do this for MIL when she stays here & its an enormous help to her when she wakes up & doesn't know where she is.

Great idea - yeah, she's never been there so it'll be interesting.

I have an idea they pried the door frame just enough that they could get the dead bolt pushed back into the door, the thing is a jury rigged storage unit. it is "Government work" around here literally....

Wish I was video taped so I'd discover how I waste a whole day and do nothing of any importance.. Had a list I took to Walmart and managed to walk in, then walk out sometime later with nothing I had on my list. Why did I bother going in?
