Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Salmon... :drool
Yes, salmon! But in my brain, that’s in a class by itself. I can’t compare it to what we can catch around here.

Morning Pondites ....Okay little thing I learned in Juneau take the salmon place on foil add seasoning garlic, butter and dill, pepper a touch of salt fold to seal place in dishwasher run simple wash fish is done to perfection
I’ll have to say, would never occur to me to cook fish in the dishwasher! I put all those things on it, wrap it in foil and put in the oven.

Ok, not sure where my other post went. Puppers decided to rest her head on the keyboard, poof.
I enjoy eating salmon, DH not so much so I don't get it very often. If we are able to get near a buffet this time of year tho, it's always a staple of the holiday buffets in this part of the country.
My fav tho is perch, then crappie. Perch is scarce this year (which is a horror to the Friday fish fries folks here) so the fish fries are most likely to be cod. Some have even switched to Tilapia :sick.
As Phil can attest, there are still plenty of huge fat perch in Lake Gogebic if you know where to fish;) . Like the area of the lake where you can catch the fat perch with no stripes. (Really. Don't know if they are a mutation or a subspecies, really don't care. They're still mighty tasty:drool )
I have a17" perch stuffed i got on lake gogebic years ago

Good morning floaters . Perch talk makes me feel like a tale this morning .Haven is finding a place unfished landing mess of fifty white perch .Being so proud of your find and catch .Asking mama if we could leave the heads on,so my daddy could see how big they were.I was twelve and would rather fish than go to school .In 1962 we moved from the swamps of Arkansas the heart of Nashville three blocks off broadway. What a cluture shock .Little better than a slum house. I was 8 years old .We lived in the city till I was 12 .4 different places in 4 years .At the time Nashville was a very different place .I remember cobble stone streets and alleys .The cumberland river split east nashville and downtown .Short drive south put you in the rural part of the city. The last place we lived before going back to a milk cow hogs goats and chickens .The cumberland still flooded some .Old Hickory dam and lake were just being finished. Bayous along the river filled with wildlife. We walked to the river to fish for cat fish. Explored the area around where we lived. I had heard of a underground lake that was supposed to be large with no outlet .I covered a lot of ground wonded from fishing hole to fishing hole. I came across a water hole at the base of a small bluff ,not much bigger than a sofa .It was deep and I dropped in my line .I instantiy pulled out the largest white perch I had ever seen .Within a hour.I pulled fifty large beautiful white perch out of that hole . Less than a quater mile from home .I dont recall ever being so proud of a catch before or after. And wanted my daddy to see how big they were .Pretty sure it was the only outlet to the under ground lake where all the fish came to feed. I come by it honestly .Dad was always looking for a good place to bank fish .To poor to afford a boat.We spent many nights fishing all night at deep holes in small streams and creeks .Followed dogs all night coon hunting .We had coon hounds. For rabbit hunting , I was the Begal .It seemed so hard then and so wonderful now.

Great story K! :clap Just what I needed.

I need to add "Take DD1 to the doctor" to my poop list. Shes been sick for 10 days & still up all night coughing. I've had the other two camped out in the livinroom trying to not catch it, but after 10 days I suspect that what shes got isn't contagious. Probably a sinus infection.

New dryer (from Sears, not HD ) Comes in tomorrow & not a moment too soon. I hope its not delayed, that it actually works & they don't tear up my floor putting it in. (been there, done that with all those things.) :fl

See what you can do about the weather out that way today, if you can. Son left here about 9 this morning, headed that way. Taking the toll road, trying to avoid snow in Indiana.

He was here a day short of 2 weeks, deer hunting with me. The older I get, the harder it is to say goodbye. Now I start counting down to Summer, when he'll be back for a week.
understand that.
Weather up here is nice today! A balmy +15 and sunny!!! Packers playing at home right now, doin' a little Bear huntin'. Go Pack Go!
Weather to our south shouldn't be too awful either. Guess not quite the story if heading east from Illinois.
