Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Love it... I take it you are using a recipe app?

I wish I could sell pickles. The state of Californa says NO pickles for cottage industry. Dam it. I can sell jams and cookies There isnt even a choice for pickles. But I want to give them a try. I have two dozen eggs ready to be turned into tasty bites.

I don't have pickled Garlic but I do have Dried Garlic slices. when they hydrate in the Vinegar I suspect they would taste like they were pickled. Jaring them up will be easy peasy...

Just to confirm:

100 Quail eggs
2 tsp Crab boil liquid
5 cloves Garlic
5 hot peppers
1/2 tsp Mustard seed
2 tsp Pickling salt
2 1/2 tsp Pickling spice
1 Tbsp red pepper flakes
5 Or 2 cups White vinegar?

:pop
I am assuming some of those are per Jar? Or do they all get put together to simmer till time to put the eggs in the Jar.

10 cups vinegar is what that comes to theyre say 5 times 2 its suposed to do 10 jars. Sorry.

No ma'am nothing is per jar.

Its not a recipe app just pintrest.

You will boil it all (except the peppers) together for 5 minutes before pouring it over the eggs still hot. I stir between each jar cuz i want the pepper flakes and such to be more evenly distributed. I also slice the peppers lengthwise for presentation and put them in when your putting the eggs in so theyll be pressed against the side.

:lau them be some mighty small quail eggs:gig

Thats why she was askn, she was confused :plbb

LOL.... Good.... Now I have to figure out how many quail eggs make a chicken egg.... That would be Four.... 100 quail equals 24 chicken... Hey thats how many eggsies I have...

so after I boil the eggs I will poke them into half pint jars to figure out how many jars they will fill. Then recalculate for the Jars. I suspect about six eggs per jar.... So that would be four jars.... the amount of liquid may be the same because there is more space between the larger eggs...

I guess I could pour in water then Measure out how much would be needed.

I love the science of cooking Um er Preserving...

Crazy city people. This is a sign at someone's gym!
I have got to duplicate it, maybe add a bear in place of the gladiator and put on the old outhouse sittin' in our woods that the guys sometimes use during hunting season

They're living in my workshop with my juvenile brahmas for now, because the woman had them with a heat lamp so I can't really put them outside. Both are in good health. No signs of lice or scaly leg mites, etc. They are this year's birds, bought as chicks at TSC this spring. The hen laid an egg. I'll probably set it tomorrow with some Liege Fighter eggs.

Speaking of, I bought eggs from another breeder, which just got in today. I ordered six and got nine. Just candled and they are in perfect shape. Tiny little air cells, can't even tell they were shipped. As to the last batch, of the two without detached air cells, only one is developing. Of the ones with detached air cells, several were definitely totally scrambled. One is developing, but it is way behind the one with the intact air cell and I'm not sure it's going to make it without quitting.

But, I called the seller and it sounds like he'll be willing to give me a discount on some new eggs. He wants me to see how the hatch goes, so I'll wait, but it's going to be two tops.
