Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Numbers holding is GOOD!

Hope it keeps improving.

Our state has a state dashboard thing where it shows total number of hospital beds available statewide... and number of beds taken up by covid patients.

It is nice, calming numbers up here.

Excellent news on the logging... hopefully the ground will stay cold enough while they log, so that it doesn't rut up too much.
The loggers just showed up!!! :wee
:( The down side is I know it's never going to look the same. We lost so much around the house and "people" part of the property from the storm last year that I guess I already have an idea what things will look like. I'm just sad that our lane (it's in the pic I recently posted with the pup) won't be so pretty anymore but the up side is the whole area we call the "point" will be logged out, opening up that area and allowing us to be able to get to bluff that overlooks the creek and our back forty. Haven't been able to get back there for years. The other good thing is it will not be a clear cut situation since we have several species there just isn't a market for right now so they won't be cutting them like the tamaracks and the white pines (which I didn't want to see cut anyway) .
We are such a small job for them that they're only coming in with their small feller/buncher and the logging truck can use the lane so the ground damage is going to be minimal.
They will have to do the job in two phases anyway. We have a lot of acreage that can't be worked unless the ground is frozen or we've had a serious drought. Part is flood plain for the decent sized creek and then we have 10 acres or so that has a couple springs. We always meant to dig those out and make a swimming hole. Maybe now we'll finally get that done. Going to be a noisy, interesting week.

... I’d be willing to pay more to NOT have an electric panel.
A few years ago we had to really hunt and our local Sears (they are all independent now) did a search thru their database and finally found us a stove without most of the electronics. We still had to settle for an electronic ignition on the oven :tongue We wanted a stove that would work 100% even if the power went out but at least we can still use the burners. If things really hit the fan we still have the old stove with all the, now illegal, pilot lights. Wouldn't take much to get it back into the house.

Ours is a Frigidaire only thing I would do different I would love a double oven
Bought at scratch and dent outfit here so less than new 450.00 total 5th burner, Solid
cast iron grates big bonus with griddle

now that I could put up with the electronics for :D bad thing is we are not anywhere near any outlet type stores. When we first moved up here we brought a really nice fridge with us that we got a huge discount on because of a big scratch down the side.

DH is picking up a range from the scratch & dent right now. I hope it doesn’t suck. It’s got a weird lip thing on it that looks like it’s gonna be a bugger to clean, but I’m sure this new stove is not long for this earth anyway... Nothing connected in any way to the power grid will last under the wrath of my power (said in my mad scientist voice.)
I should apologize in advance to the stove. The second it comes in here it’ll have a death warrant hanging over it.

Interesting that the Sears scratch & dent isn’t Sears. It’s the same location & the website says Sears, but they said it hasn’t been Sears for a long time. This is convenient, so when it breaks, LG can say “Take it up with Sears.” & Sears can say, “We’re not Sears...” 🙄
