I have to read backwards to catch up. I’m not sure how I got so far behind.
DD2 Frankie went with me to pickup Debs birds & Frankie managed to come home with an old, blind Silkie
She can’t be put with the rest of the flock & doesnt do well in large places. She’s been in my livingroom the last couple days. This weekends project is building her a little hut & run outside where she can chat with the other birds, but still stay safe.
It should be an interesting & different project from anything we’ve done before. We want to make her ‘hut’ like a run within a run. Small enough in her little area that she won’t feel overwhelmed, but big enough in her outer run that the kids can get in there with her. I have visions of the worlds smallest coop, with a flat of grass & mini picket fences, but knowing our skill set it might end up looking like a cardboard box with AstroTurf & popsicle sticks.
It was SO exciting to finally meet Deb & her son Dean.
I didn’t hug her like I threatened I would’ve because of the damn CV19, but that just means I’ll hug her twice next time. (Consider yourself warned Deb.
