Got 4 pages of instructions from my doctor. The day before the "event." I'm only allowed to have clear liquids like water, Sprite or 7 Up. Never could drink Sprite too acidic for me. Maybe 7-up will be okay.

Yep! And I eat lots of raspberries and blue berries... couldn't eat either... any fruit or veggies had to be no seeds, no skins, and super cooked or canned.

Tonight, I had a protein drink... shook it up, unscrewed the top, did something.... sat back down and grabbed it and shook it...

Yep


All over.

Luckily most of it went on my shirt.

Sheesh!

Tomorrow is my clear liquid diet.

Friday is the procedure. Mine is at the hospital.

My grandpa did that ... at a restaurant... A1 sauce... Curtains shirt table.

Premier is the one store bought protien drink I can swallow now. Costco but you can buy it on line. I actually prefer the Bariactric protein powders. They have two that I prefer. Non flavored. you can flavor it how ever you want. And Chicken Flavored.

The non flavored I still plan on making mushroom soup with. The chicken flavored I can Use it hot but it has to be mixed cold to make it blend.

I also have a Cream De Mint jar that I havent opened yet. i have tasted an individual packet of it and it was really good.

Sorry I digress. Been laying low because of the pain.

Oh we are surely enjoying chicken TV. The pecking order seems to be established . With Beastie on bottom. The Creme Legbar is the Boss and the Wyandott as the middle Hen.

Its been a crazy week Lots going on at the house. I got my kitchen Cabinets and they filled the horse trailer. I been battling fatigue and pain. But its getting better finally.

The routine that was developing is Feather yanking only happened when Beastie wanted to eat at the same time as the others. So we started with a separate Bowl for him. Then We went to the feed store and bought feeders that are designed to clip onto the cage wires. They hold about four cups of water in one and about eight cups of feed in the other. Set at chicken breast height so now the girls cant Bogart the feed. I am reliably getting two eggs per day.

Mr Beastie at night time is trying to cram himself under the hens... He wants a momma... I guess. Where upon he winds up knocking one or the other hens off the roost... Or himself. His Comb and wattles are getting a bit redder and he is clucking more than he is baby cheeping. But NO Kazoo Crow of any kind. Zip Nada. LOL. And I swear to Gawd hes getting taller. Its like hes going through that gangly teen age puberty stage without the voice change.

I think I am going to call The Creme Legbar, HexHenBieste. (result of Binge watching Grimm for a whole week now) And the Wyaondott, SchadeBieste another reference. Both girls are very very quiet but we didn't realize that HexHen is the one doing all the talking... Like Big long low Awwwwwwwwwks and a couple of soft Awk Talks. Schade Also talks very softly though I have heard her do a very quiet Egg Song once.

Yesterday
Well I guess today was the day... He mounted HexHen in the sand box... She got up shaking her tail feathers and he came up proud. Maybe he has a dysfunctional voice? Still no Crow Kazoo or otherwise....

Definitely am going to get them up to the house this weekend. Every one is going to need more space now.

Oh and went through six seasons of Grim in about a week and a half. Awesome Awesome took my mind off my back.

Physical therapy has been put on hold. I am not up to it yet. Each session has left me in more pain. As well as taken away my confidence. I have seen all the therapists in the facility. Each one went through an evaluation phase. Don't understand that one. The last one put me on a recumbent bike and I loved it. But ten minutes was too much. I spent all my energy on it.

After that it was down hill. After a week of no recovery I opted out. They will keep my account open but I dont think I am going back.

I do have a referal to get Exrays of my back. For the Chiropractor. I hope my doctor sees them and refers me to an Orthopedist. The first evaluation came from a fellow who was on loan from San Marcos. And he asked me how long I had had Scoliosis. That had me worried from the start.

Morning fellow pond paddlers
hope everyone's summer is going as well as can be expected under the circumstances.
All is well, just extremely boring here. Been so wet I gave up on the gardens, no keeping up with the weeds, so for the first time in 20+ years I just decided rather than resort to chemical weapons I just threw open the garden gates and let the chooks and bunnies have at it.

Had to go to town yesterday with the DH. Every time I do go I get the odd feeling of being in a 70's, dystopian solient green type, sci-fi movie. Can't get back to our small piece of sanity fast enough. Speaking of crazy, the violent destructive type of crazy has finally descended upon our state, at least the southern half. Have to say I'm surprised it took this long. At this rate I doubt we will ever go to the southern part of the state again.

Al-sorry you can't eat real food. Never had them get quite that radical with me before one of those things. Mine have always been done in the hospital. The last one I was out completely. guess they knew ahead of time they would probably be doing a bit of surgery. Nothing serious.

Just the person I need to talk to.
Our son & his wife just bought a place in Mt. Pleasant, in Racine County. They're due to settle the end of July, & he doesn't know who to talk to about the legalities of keeping chickens.

Only info I've been able to come up with so far is to check with the local zoning office; haven't seen Mt. Pleasant specifically anywhere yet. I asked him whether they'll be inside the city limits, how the property's zoned, & whether any of the neighbors have chickens.

Any light you can shed from the opposite end of the state?
