Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

This Particulate is up early here 7:30... Considering I often don't go to bed till around 3-4 am. Barometer is changing here and we are supposed to get a couple of days of drizzle. Yay. At the very least its going to drop from the mid 90s down to the low 80s.

So that's good.

Woke up in pain so got up to take some meds. I hope I just slept wrong because the last few days were awesome.

Deprivation I tell ya!!
Not positive of the recipe, but pretty sure it's just fresh strawberries & Sure-gel, plus whatever crust you like. One of our ladies can likely fill in anything I forgot.Just store it covered in the fridge.

1 cup of Crisco
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
cold water as needed

If only I could do half that much!

Just the person I need to talk to.
Our son & his wife just bought a place in Mt. Pleasant, in Racine County. They're due to settle the end of July, & he doesn't know who to talk to about the legalities of keeping chickens.

Only info I've been able to come up with so far is to check with the local zoning office; haven't seen Mt. Pleasant specifically anywhere yet. I asked him whether they'll be inside the city limits, how the property's zoned, & whether any of the neighbors have chickens.

Any light you can shed from the opposite end of the state?
So sorry I haven't been on very much (really busy) and just caught your post. He's probably found his answers himself by now but what little I know about WI is that if you aren't in side some city limits, there basically isn't any regulations. As for within the cities, it's been getting "official" approval one city council at a time with each one being a bit different but I haven't heard of any saying a flat "no" to chickens at this point. I'll see what I can find out from my WI chicken group tho if he hasn't found the answers for himself yet.

4 hens, no roosters.

Hi everyone! :caf
tried to catch up. lots of pages. I apologize if I missed anything important.
Long story so here's the readers digest version. Road tripped in the rain today to the nearest clinic that's in my onc's network to have my labs drawn. Quick turnaround and home, with a stop at Nueske's to stock up the freezer with bacon and a few other goodies. Still a trip but an hour closer and a whole lot less time then my oncologist so not too bad. Next I do the tele-visit thing from home on Thursday. It was his idea (shock) first time in over 10 years he's let me get away with not actually seeing him in the office. Only serious cases allowed into the clinic is my guess. Hopefully my labs are done by Thursday. That would be nice.
Bit of a surprise, not of the good type, after we got home, it's a trip to the vet early in the morning. My pup was fine, then an hour later blood everywhere from her back end. Ruptured anal gland. She had an appointment to have them checked on the 10th. I had made it a couple weeks ago knowing she was due (she has to have them emptied by the vet several times a year, genetically malformed) but they weren't even taking non emergency visits until after july 4th when I called because, yep, Covid. Thanks to our governor they could not operate normally until then but because she's now an emergency they can see her sooner. Good thing I just got my last paycheck, sigh.
