A step-grandparent of a former student (I knew of her, but never really talked) called and has chickens in the city limits and wants to let her broody hatch out. My chickens are all just mutts right now, so sure. Why not? But we waited for a while.A friend of who @orrpeople
Ugh..neighbors can really make or break your peaceful existence! We had to leave our first home because an elderly neighbor allowed her drug-dealing son to move in and suddenly there were all manner of individuals on our road. My kids were 5 and 7 at the time. No bueno!Yep.
We kinda agreed on a 5 year plan when we bought it. But then we got some terrible neighbors again that make seriously disturb my peace. I don't think I can live here another 3 years without losing my freaking mind.
Screaming and fighting, guy that beats the living outta the woman, drugs, loose dogs constantly. It's insane.
Glad you’re getting a break! We were off today for teachers’ workshop, and get out at 12:30 on Friday because of conferences. Since I don’t have to be there when there are no students in the building, it’s time off for me. I am also taking tomorrow off, because my mom will be leaving the hospital. I want to get her settled in her (temporary) apartment and make sure she can get around OK before I go back to work. She’s renting an apartment in our local senior living complex. It has long term care, assisted living, catered living and independent living all under one roof. She will be in Catered Living. She gets breakfast 7 days a week and noon meal 5 days a week. Supper is on her own. The dining room is right across the hall from her apartment. Physical therapy will come to her. That is a huge relief. November weather in MN is unpredictable. It can be 70 (it just was on Saturday) or blizzarding on any given day. She will have a medic alert necklace to wear while she’s there, and an emergency cord in her apartment. My son lives just a few blocks away, so he can get there before I do if she has a problem. I will spend the first night with her for sure, and maybe take Wednesday off school, depending on how she’s feeling about being on her own. She’s pretty tough and independent, so she may send me packing sooner than I expect her to.Three day week (actually only 2 more!!!) and I'm beyond excited. It's been since Labor Day that we've had a break. That's a looonnnggg stretch with a bunch of 10 year olds.
Sounds like an excellent transition idea.Glad you’re getting a break! We were off today for teachers’ workshop, and get out at 12:30 on Friday because of conferences. I agree, too. Gradual, but not too restrictive. I would like to move someplace where they cook my meals...Glad you’re getting a break!
