Final count is 4. She gathered a few extra eggs while sitting so they were good but not ready to hatch, they're in the incubator now.

They are! I think there's a blue one but it's super dark.

Late today had to have a fasting blood draw.
Brought a pot of coffee to finish.

The eggs put into the incubator after the bear slaughter had a LOW hatch rate.... brand new incubator, I was out of town.... so the kid who set it up didn't realize he had to plug the turner in separately..... so, the eggs didn't turn at all the first 2 weeks.

So.... uh.... 2 chicks. Both are golden spangled Spitz. Cute little infants.

Nice that the incubator is now empty... my shipped Muscovy eggs finally showed up.

Good Afternoon Pond Folks yard work today lots of it.
Change the hose for chickens the one there is kinking bad.
Have a no kink to replace it ? I sure hope so.

I managed to accidentally schedule a shipment of guinea keets and a shipment of chicks to arrive the same week! It'll keep me busy I guess, haha.

I have 48 keets coming, but I will keep only ten. The rest are for some friends who went in on the order with me. I ordered fancy and rare assorted, so I'm hoping to get a good variety and have a fun colorful flock to go with the three adults I picked up at a swap a month ago.

On the chick front, I'm repopulating my flock from what I lost to the dog attack. I have coming for myself 3 brahmas, 3 cuckoo marans, 3 easter eggers, 5 hatchery surprise, 2 assorted dark brown egg layers, and 5 porcelain d'uccles. Also coming are 8 sebrights and 8 assorted dark brown layers for a different friend.
