I have not had birds in about three years. Well, chicks for a month, but that was almost two years ago.

60 years later, and I sometimes dream of walking into a class I have forgotten to attend, and it's exam day.

Good Morning, Pond!
I looked at my Murray McMurray catalog last night, pondering whether or not I want to order a dozen chicks or so. The cheapest ones available for smaller quantities are $6.50 each! Those are RIRs and New Hampshire Reds. The “fun” ones range from $9.00-$12.00 each. For CHICKS!!! Looks like I’ll be sticking with my barnyard mixes if I can’t find anything more reasonable than that. DH thinks I should get a good incubator, and I love the idea, but I don’t want to have to fuss with one. I’d rather have a couple of good broodies do the work for me.
