Never had any issues till today.

About 10:30 today according to my system my internet crashed. It was acting funny yesterday but died today.

The download was still fine. I could serf the web but the upload coming from my website to the people on the internet died. It was down to about 0.1 mb/s. Which is enough for most farm websites but just one person watching one of my video streams can eat 4 times that easy. I tried everything on my end. I even unhooked everything an hooked my laptop directly to there system so nothing could be going threw but my test. No good. The up stream speed was just not there. So I gave up an shot them a email.

About 2:00 they fixed what ever it was an in almost no time my band was full of people watching chickens hatch. It normally stays full. Thinking that was that till they sent me a email back. Expecting a thank you, sorry, problem solved letter I opened it to find a not all that nice one telling me that there system is fine an that I have so much out going web traffic that it is killing my download speed an should pay for more or buy hosting... I steamed on that for about an hour before shooting a email back repeating the details an getting very in depth about it. I even offered to give them my data that proves it was on there end. Then telling them that for what I pay them(many times more than a home user) I expect what I pay for or a apology when things go wrong. Not being blamed for there issue an told to pay them more.

They shot another email back telling me again that there system is fine an my download is slow because I have to much web traffic an gave me a print out of my current threw put.. Like it has anything to do with threw put several hours ago.... Long story short an several emails they are still refusing to admit something on there end went wrong an are still trying to sell me more band width to fix a download problem i don't have.

Any other decent internet companies in your area??
And i'll call a HEAD supervisor about that snotty jerk too...

I have Charter too. I used to have the "bundle"
But my phone never worked and my tv was always going out. The internet was down all the darn time and I was paying 120 a month.
I had 18 service calls out to my house in 8 months and they could never figure out the problem.
I dropped the phone and the tv, just internet now. That seems to be working fine oddly enough.
They always told me it was my fault for living where I do.
I told them it was their fault for offering crappy service at full price in an area like that.
Either no service, or the same service I had when I lived in the city.
That's what I think.
They did not like me when all was said and done.

I hope you get your issue with them resolved.
They drive me bonkers!

They stopped emailing me. I think it sunk in that you cant have to much server traffic with the server unplugged. Hard to say though. Anyway they don't seem to want to admit there system is not perfect. I know mine is not so I tried everything on my end to make sure before contacting them. O well, everything is working an odds are I'm talking to someone in India anyway.

Not sure if this is the case with you or not but they can throttle upload speeds if a user start to take up too much bandwidth. They might set a limit per day and do a throttle once that is reached. I'd check on what package that you are using and then monitor your own usage. Bandwidth isn't unlimited and ISPs try to discourage people running web or FTP servers in their home.

I was listening to Dr Phil this am, and he interviewed a 75 year old woman that tried to bundle the phone, tv, and internet. They changed her phone number, and she ended up not having any service, and they told her that everything was fine, it was a problem on her side. She tried to speak to a supervisor, and they kept putting her off. She got in the car and drove to Charter, and they told her to have a seat, where she waited for nearly 2 hours before she had enough and went home. At home, she went to the basement tool box, got the hammer, and told her husband to get in the car, they were going back to Charter. When they got there, she went to the head of the line, to the desk, and took the hammer and started bashing the phone and the keyboard at the desk, yelling "If I can't have a phone and internet, you're not going to either"! They told her to calm down, and if she would just have a seat, someone would be right with her. She kept smacking until the police arrived. She was arrested, and ended up having to pay about $2500. But she grinned and said that Charter fixed the problem while she was in jail!

Yea, for a home user they do all that. I have charter business internet an pay out my you know what for it so they cant throttle me back. I also have to pay an extra charge above that to have a static IP to run a web server.
