Madison! :aww

Sweetheart, I'm sorry to hear about that. That's awful! You know here at BYC we love you to bits and are always here for you, no matter what you need.

I think you should rehome them for free to someone special who has a similar interest in breeding. Just ask that this person give you some hatching eggs or chicks on down the road to get you started when you are in a good place to do so.

Sometimes I think it helps to take a deep breath and ask for grace and do what has to be done for now. As someone who had to sell my horses when I went off to college, I know how hard it is. I am not a person who believes in selling equine best friends like that. However, better things were around the corner, I just had to give up some very important things to get there.

Sad part is, they'll probably be sold to whomever, and they STILL might be penned up instead of allowed to free range. Sounds like you two need to have a heart-to-heart.

I am putting out the {{{{{ best vibes }}}}} possible for you right now. I know how hard it can be to have to give up your birds. At some point in your life, maybe you can have your own coop and not have to worry about dealing with another person's issues.

As for coming out and not being accepted, I really feel for you. In my Christian religious beliefs (liberal Quaker), it is wrong to discriminate against anyone, as Christ loves us all and we are all His children. Just remember that even though the Bible says homosexuality is wrong, it also says it is wrong to eat shrimp! And though Jesus preached it was wrong to divorce, He never preached it was wrong to be gay. How many divorced people are still attenders at Christian churches acrossed the world without being discriminated against? And if you are ever pressured by friends and family to attend an "ex-gay" program that is Christian related, please consult this site . The founder is a Quaker who really understands what you may be going through.

My prayers are with you and good luck.

Laurie

I am so sorry to read what your going through but please, please remember that it will get better. Maybe not today, maybe not tommorow but there is always a light at the end. I think Beardedchick had a wonderful idea. You would know they are taken care of and loved and then later have a little fuzzybutt possibly from one of them. You could probably even go to visit when you need a fix of chicken TV. I would gladly take them in but I am too far away. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Sorry you are having such a hard time. If I were nearby, you could keep your chooks at my place...

You must feel like everyone is against you right now. Well, it is not true. Things will get better.

My 2 cents - Do what you can to make sure your chickens are taken care of then concentrate on moving. Keep in contact with BYC.

I know what it is like to have most of your family believing that you are going to hell and that you deserve it. You just have to remember, that for some reason, they are more comfortable being hateful and have difficulty just loving. I really feel very sorry for most of my family because they spend so much time and energy looking for a reason to be negative and devisive instead of making things positive and beautiful.

Hang in there, sweetie. It will be OK.

What an interesting site, thank you. My parents ARE trying to get me to go to a christian shrink to "help me get back to normal"

I told them where to shove normalcy.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, I really appreciate it. *sniffles*
