Well I hope to be leaving for Old Blighty next Monday...

I have to admit, there are quite a few yanks here who have those cookbooks now. We actually moved to this farm because it had an AGA. Theyr'e undheard of here and we were looking to build a house so we could have one. Low and behold we found Greyfields. The realator for the previous owner actually told her to rip the thing out as "no one would know what it was". Would that have been a crime or what?

Our wool is a constant problem. It's worthless here in the US being a cotton wearing country. We send it all the way to Nova Scotia to get it milled at a horrendous cost. Fiber just hasn't caught on here yet.

Wow will you do well in UK, they are now using sheeps wool for insulation in buildings. Excellent stuff.

We have come so far in so many ways but need to go back to some of the old ways sometimes to find the value in what we have lost....lol.

I would love an Aga, but I have no room really here, we will see what happens in the future, for now I am hoping to put in a wood burning stove, just for the heat...lol. You were lucky to find your house, it would have been a crime to have taken it out. One of those things that was meant to be I guess.

English Chick: I knew you were close to that area and I will come up as soon as I can. Yes the neck problems are a real nuisance. I have trapped nerves in my shoulders and arms as a result. Will stay in touch.

Jena.

True,

just got a nice mug of Tea, and my knitting needles.... lol...

Darling we are talking English...countrified English that is...oh boy how I miss my Aga.....the best roast dinners come out of an Aga....I can smell the beef now, yorkshire pudding........blisssssss....roast poatoes that melt in your mouth (whilst burning you tongue!) carrots tossed in butter and black pepper with a dash of sherry....ahhh yes the food was so.........ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm and only available from an Aga......wood burning not oil!

They're all propane here, which isn't bad. It's nice except for those 3 days in August where it actually gets over 90 degrees here. We've never dared turn it off though. I think once you go AGA you can't go back.

And ours is Claret red.

Great, greyfields. I'm envious (not jealous, envious).

I know y'all will have an awesome time. I truly hope you can connect with our british BYC brethren (and 'sistren"?)...

Keep us posted on the hop across the pond...

Oh, and good luck getting your project done.

Well it would be easier if we werent' so pressed for time. We're trying to squeeze what we used to do in 4 weeks into 2. Lots of relatives to visit and such. And with any luck, it will probably be bloody nithering and icy and we'll get to go nowhere. That's not always a bad thing.
