Well. Let's add some CHAOS shall we?

Booker, your information is very helpful! I can cancel out testosterone thank GOSH because I only have pullets. There is ONE Wyandotte I am not 100 percent sure on, but almost. I am glad Monica will be able to stick up for herself, her affectionate nickname is Brahma Momma lol! She totally took the 10 week olds under her wing, so I am looking forward to Tuesday! I am waiting until then so she learns where her new home is and such, plus I have my neice and nephew up and don't want it to be any crazier then it needs to be. I am feeling better about the "Don't seperate until blood or extreme terror" rule lol, so that's good. I just hope Joon doesn't bite off more then she can chew haha.

OH and I cannot WAIT to let my kitten out! He has been watching these chicks for a while now, but I know he will NOT mess with this girl. She is hugemongous. So seeing her size and what the others should be (same size) I am confident my younger cat will learn a lesson. He is real small, so Monica outweighs him easily lol! They will be able to gang up on him he won't know what hit him lol!

I was pretty impressed - she really could put a beating on them, but when they backed down, she didn't harass them or anything. She's not a bully, but she sure doesn't take any crap!

Here's her and her lieutenant (with a RIR roo head for good measure....)

She reminds me of the draft horses my family used to breed and raise - Shires. Giant, passive, and just cool as heck to have

Loved their personalities!

Beautiful! Yeah this girl is not a bully, but she doesn't back down. She is very gentle with her adopted 10 week old crew, but she does make sure they know she is bigger, and therefore BOSS. She doesn't chase them from food or water, and I saw her find a worm and give it up to my little Blue Wyandotte! I am excited to have her on board! I snapped some pictures of her earlier in the new home. She will be free ranged in the yard with everybody else on Tuesday hopefully

and there are some pictures of her and Joon staring each other down lol!

This is her and Joon, my 14 week old Barred Rock pullet, having a stand off. No noise, no chest bumping, they just stared each other down. It was intense haha.

No, I know what the suggestion was. A few people have suggested it, explained why, and I have look over that thread before. I understand the suggestion, but I am doing this without quarantine. It is just personal preference. I have read the horror stories, and also talked with people who have had no issues. This thread is about Integrating, I just was wondering what the best approach to integrating was.

And I got the new bird today. I have been at this ranch for about 9 weeks or so, handle their chickens, handle my own chickens. I think if something was going to be passed it would have been passed. That's all. I know most do not agree with this reasoning or approach, but it is my own.

I would say the Brahma is head pullet now over the 10 week olds, that is what you are seeing. She isn't mothering them she is showing them who is boss. That is how a Brama does it if she can. I would be more concerned with the 14 week olds, not the gentle Brahma. Gentle Brahma- ha, not always, sorry but that just makes me laugh at memories here.

A Brahma will be leader over other breeds that are smaller, period. I have had Brahmas with Barred Rocks and older just as large established Turkens. Now that was interesting. The Brahma tried but lost that try for Head Hen.

I don't see a problem coming your way. Watch for a few days, but it should be a short session and not nearly as interesting as the Turken/Brahma match that I had that lasted for weeks before my Brahma finally backed down.
