well my second order of eggs came in...

im not talking regular egg cartons. im talking about the little quail egg cartons. but they were cushioned well yes. this is not the shippers fault in no way shape or form.

I realize they were in the quail cartons.....I was just wondering if they had any cushioning inside the carton around the egg. I'm not saying the shipper was at fault, just trying to understand how that many eggs were broken without the box being totally crushed. If they were just in the cartons without any type of cushioning or padding inside the carton with the eggs that could have been a problem.

no there wasnt any room for cushioning inside the cartons. there was cushioning in between and around all of the cartons.

edited to add it looked like someone just took it and shook it violently and dropped it on the floor. the only carton that survived in tact is the on in the very middle of them all. the one with the most protection.

I would say that could very well have been the problem then.....doesn't matter how much cushioning they have around the cartons, if they can move at all inside the cartons there's a good chance of breakage. Add that to rough handling by the PO and that can equal broken eggs.

the shipper taped the cartons closed. the eggs were big enough to be snug. i did check that out before accusing anyone of anything.

update! ok now that we have raised caine all day with the post offices and such NOW they are wanting to make things halfway right! i dont know all the details yet as my brother is on the phone with them still. BUT they have said repeatedly that these types of shipments need to have "special handling required" on them. now they are covering the shipping cost this second time for us.
