Well Proof my sister does not know me at all.......

You can find lots of things there! Cleaning supplies, dish soap, just handy things that you always need around the house.....Don't knock it until you try it!

Go there, take a look, and you will find things.

I'm with you! I'd be thrilled to have $25 that I could spend on all those cheap things that I'd like to have but won't spend the money on (simple pleasures like fuzzy socks - lotions that smell really good - a splurge on candy and a movie one night). And who says that it has to be used on one big spending spree. I like the idea of using it to stock up on gift bags and tissue paper. Sometimes those cost as much as the gift inside them! You could always use it a little at a time.
If the OP is really so insulted by the gift, maybe they should return it to the giver and tell them that they didn't spend enough - or that it wasn't to a good enough store.

I think we are talking about hurt feelings here not gift comparison, worth, value or jealousy.

Dollar tree has its' place but not for a gift.
. That is like giving your wife a mop for Christmas.

I wish I was on your Christmas gift list .Your gift for Christmas this year- homemade bread with jam and cookies is far better than a gift certificate. It is something homemade with thought put into it. I would much rather receive the homemade bread than some gift that was bought with no thought put into- it was just cause they needed to get a gift for someone.

Not that they get any props from me but Cosmo rated a giftcard from a dollar store as the top frenemy "don't give a darn" passive aggressive gifts. And here me and my best girlfriend were just talking about gifting each other with that very thing, lol. Awesome cleaner rocks.

Just had a secret santa at work, and gift cards upset some. Some complained that a gift card meant people didn't care to know them or find out about them, but they were also the people who avoided talking with/interacting with others on a daily basis. Others *wanted* a gift card but didn't get them. Some prefered cash over anything, and others wanted a home made gift. Some would have been insulted by cash, others by home made. Some were insulted by candy, some were insulted by the way it was wrapped, some hated practical gifts, some hated not getting practical gifts, some were obsessing over checking to see if their gift giver spent the maximum ammount of money on them, etc, etc. This is a large part of the reason I don't do gifts anymore. Seems to cause more animosity and knit-picking than most things. I do tend to give random (not based on holiday) gifts to close friends, but all of my close friends are really easy going people, and for a reason.

I've long given up on expecting anyone to undertand me. I did luck out and find a husband who does, but that is it for my very short list. XD

gift card= somebody took money out of their wallet so that you can spend it. I am sure you'll find something there. $25 is a lot of cash these days to get from one individual.

What do I think of people who think that something that is not handmade wouldn't be good?

I wouldn't go as far as demanding that somebody use their precious time to make me something. I highly appreciate it if somebody does, but would never demand it or be disappointed. I'll take that gift card if you don't find anything

I sort of know how you feel. Every year my grandmother would get me a pink, lightweight jacket for Christmas and birthday. I got so frustrated I said "No more!" She does buy me some wierd stuff. Last year she went on about how she got me the *PERFECT* gift, it was so *PERFECT*! It ended up being a ceramic pot trivet.

Useful, yes, perfect, not hardly...LOL!

I always wonder too why no one will buy me TSC gift cards as well, maybe it's a passive-aggressive control thing?
