well the cold got my silkie

I was worried about it and was not sure if they would be able to Fluff up. One of my pure white silkies is gone. Now left with 3 hens one roo, and more cold nights to go. Thinking about selling them anyways, I just do not like the small birds.

Yea our neighbor's barn just burnt to the ground yesterday. A heater for their dog or something started it? I don't know but he built pools for a living and ALL of his equipment was in there...

I have 3 heat lamps in my Silkie pen. My Australorps do fine without a heat lamp, but I am going to give them one today.

since you only have 3, can you find some place in the garage or porch where you can keep when it's really cold? I'd be happy to have them here in FL if I could get them here easier.

i hate to see them freeze. I've been bringing my little bantam in every night. the big girls have a heat lamp and do fine. but i think we're going to have a stupidly cold winter here.
