SWEET!!!I am building a 12 by 28 foot by 8ft high enclosed run with a Roof cover on it.
My oldest brother just moved from Tx to New York because of work...Most expensive add on was all the windows. Being in East Texas it gets hot and humid,, but can get nippy in the winter. I figure with this many windows It is basically an open air coop for the summer and locked down for warmth in the 4 weeks of winter![]()
...and maybe longer. But it will be fun. There goes the weekend, 4th of July Vacation, next weekend after that,
Well, you could. My oldest brother just moved from Tx to New York because of work...
I think the Chicago, New York and Ca ...
Maybe I wouldn't share my opinion here
Yeah, you're not gonna want to 'lock it down'...ventilation is just as important during winter...even up here where it can stay below freezing 24/7 for weeks on end.and locked down for warmth in the 4 weeks of winter
I'll put some additional al pics in today. I have 2 inch foam insulation on the roof rafters and added 6 eve vents in the back the go up to the ridge vent. I will be adding a vent in the ceiling as well to vent out to the dead space in the "attic" with the number of windows, There should be no issue with ventilation....and maybe longer. But it will be fun.
Well, you could.
IF you add your location
Some locations in TX can get freezing temps, but probably not Willis.

Why did you need to insulate coop roof if it's going to be shielded from the sun by the run roof?I have 2 inch foam insulation on the roof rafters
Ahhh, sorry, I misinterpreted your previous post about the run roof. The Run will be attached to the front of the coop, not over it. So the roof will be exposed. It is 2 layers particle board with the tin on top, so I put eve vents on the cool side and insulated the top of the ceiling. here is a free hand of what I mean
