Well This Is Embarrasing

Put salt and water into a coffee cup...making it kinda think (sludgy) Put the cup into a ziploc bag and then put the hugrometer inside the bag as well....close up the bag and leave it set at room temp for 12 hrs...the hygrometer should read 75%....most won't so subtract or add what it reads to get 75%....

Actually one of the thermometers I found is electronic and has a hydrometer as well

I have a super-old Hova-Bator just like that. I've had some outstanding hatches in it, too.

Having a "heat sink" inside will help a lot in keeping the temp. steady. Mine is empty right now but for a couple of sealed jars of water. Without anything inside to absorb and hold some heat, the temps will just be crazy. A decent load of eggs will act as a heat sink themselves.

What else can I use as a heat sink? I have a turner in there and I only plan on hatching a dozen or so eggs at a time. Maybe more at some point.

I put the jars in and checked it and its at around 101.5 so I lowered the thing a notch and ill check it again in a bit.

Crud it wen too high again. Oh I have another question again. Should the heat stay the same temp its set to even if the light is on (or off). I'm beginning to think that maybe the heating or censor is broke because if I set it to a certain amount with the light on the temp keeps rising and if I set it so the light is off the temp just keeps dropping?

When it turns off...it should cool down a little bit...do you hae a wafer? (i think that is what is in there lol sorry kinda early in the am)
