i just wanted to make sure

We have been using only well water since 2000........can't imagine going back to city water now...only time I have noticed anything is at the hairdresser.and she mentioned a change in my hair......I would have yours tested if you are concerned.

Actually your chickens dont need fluoride. They are beginning to find that fluoride isnt as good as thought before, and apparently it was a large propaganda thing to get rid of the waste disposal of fluoride many years back.
It actually can yellow your teeth if you get too much of it so be cautious. I know of several folks who lived in a high deposit of fluoride area, they are my age and too much in their drinking water as children and they have very yellow teeth.

Many groups are now trying to petition to get their city water fluoride free.

We are on well water here as well, would never change for city water!! No smell/taste of chlorine etc. The only thing we notice is that we have more of a build up of calcium etc, which we can use a water softener for. I keep scratching my heads when my kids ask to buy "bottled water" cause it comes from natural springs" they say, although have the time the bottled water is just city water:p Our well water comes form actual water springs that runs along our property. Wouldn't give it up for the world, although it's good to test it here and there to make sure everything's is alright!

I grew up on well water and now I only have well water, and I have never had a problem, I love the taste of my water. We do have it checked every 4 years or so, just to make sure.

Incase people didn't know...

Adding floride to city water is only really done in the devloped countries (USA, UK etc.) and some countries only add floride to the water in certain districts (such as New Zealand).

For anyone that doesn't know it is done to help stop your teeth from decaying.

Too much floride can be very bad for you (and your teeth) as it is an unnatural additive after all.

You should have more than enough floride to protect your teeth in your toothpaste so you don't need to worry about taking any suppliments.

Well water is naturally filtered by the earth, whereas chemicals are added to tap water to help kill bacteria which can be picked up while travelling along the dirty crusty pipes that supply your house - yes they are foul.

In my view well water is the best - the old ways usual are in my experience! (we used to have one where we used to live and I swear I was alot more healthier drinking it).

so then what should i feed them to make sure they get what they need? What should i look for in a feed? Is there ones that are more balanced than others? Ok I think maybe i will just get the filter for the faucet in the kitchen and save money and not get the bottled

Just feed them starter/grower/layer food depending on how old your birds are they are complete food source. you can add extra if you think they need extra protien game bird/turkey is higher in protien but shouldn't need it.
