Welp Hatchery

We put in two orders last year, and my friends have a order they put in together that is coming next week. I thought they were great! The first order they sent 8 or 9 extra, I dont remember which, and we received it in April, I think. Then my friend lost all of hers, (Her baby goats sat on them....

) so she put in another order. It ended up coming in about the last week of june, something like that, and they diddnt add any packing peanuts. So I guess if you wait untill it is warmer taht makes a difference.

I thought it was great, since they added peanuts form the breeds we had ordered.

A few weeks ago I ordered 30 Cornish from Welp and received 32. One was DOA upon arrival and one seemed to have broken it's neck in the brooder at about a week old. The remaining 30 are quite active and healthy. In another couple of weeks we'll be placing another order for 30 Cornish from Welp. Can't beat the shipping!

I ordered 25 barred rocks from Welp, I got 26....I'm in Va. All 26 still alive (I just got them last week) The box said they were shipped out of Lubbock Tx so I dont which hatchery that is.

I have never ordered from them. I heard they were one of the best places for the Cornish X. I do know that the Amish order from them a lot so I figure if the Amish like them that they must be good. I might try them out later as I was very very unhappy with another large well-known IA hatchery who's name I shall not mention.
