Welsh harlequin or..?

The one in the bottom like like its part runner. And if one is starting to quack it's a girl. Boys can't quack at all and will keep on peeping till all of a sudden they sound like frogs and are raspy. Females get their voices first.

Oh really? does that count for Pekins too? I also have a pair of Pekins which are the same age as the larger brown duckling and one of them are making the little half quack sound too. Lol if I've got a couple of girls I'll be stoked (even though names will have to be changed

) Because my partner wants to re home the boys once we know for sure what they are.

My girls all started to quack around 3-6 weeks and my boys peeped till 10-12 weeks. That goes for all ducks except muscovies.

I'm familiar with muscovies, but this is my first time with 'quacking' ducks, it's a very exciting learning experience though aha.
So I've just gotta wait and see who quacks earliest and go off that until either the colours show them apart or the drake feather comes in on the boys, is that right?

The lady is 100% mistaken, they are not pure welsh harlequin. Alright.. the first two photos show what looks to be possibly a trout or mallard duck, or some combination resulting in mainly a mallard appearance. It would be a drake based of the dark green bill. Green bills in mallard or trout ducks indicates males.

Photos 3-5 look like a pencilled indian runner cross. You will not be able to sex by appearance until around 10-12 weeks. If you hear a raspy sound now, then its a boy.

I run an Indian Runner Duck preservation from David Holderread's runner flock, we have just a small amount of experience with runners :)

Update- its crazy how much different they look!
The one that looks mallard-y is just this gorgeous chocolatey brown colour on the chest and his head is much lighter than the rest of him. His beak has gone green and his legs are now orange. I have no idea what this duck is at all haha.

Wow! That's a GORGEOUS color!

Oh man, they crack me up so much!
So we've named the big brown one Seth, and the little one Holly although it's so quiet I'm starting to think it might also be a boy!
Here's some more pictures of them both :)
