This is the time I always wonder if I'm seeing things. My Welsummer babies are 3 weeks old and I'm amazed at how big they've gotten. Last night I was hanging out in their coop just observing and talking to them, letting them get used to me and my voice. I noticed that one Welsummer was lighter than the other two, then I noticed it had a rather prominent comb. Hmm....time to consult the chicken board! Then I read something about pullets having eyeliner around the eyes. So this morning I go out and try to get individual pictures. (See below) I got some decent head shots but they wouldn't stay still too long for full body / feather shots. Am I seeing things or could the lighter one be a roo?

They all look like pullets.

On Wellies, I know some folks can sex them by the eye liner and head markings....on some strains at least. For me, it's when they feather in. Males have a black breast, females, the salmon/brown color like your birds.
