Welsummer bantam sitting on duck eggs

Also since your going to have ducklings and I imagine you'll be feeding chick crumb? they will need some type of niacin since chick crumb doesn't have what ducklings need so if you can find Nutritional yeast to sprinkle over their feed at 1 tablespoon per cup of feed. This is for leg health. Large breeds especially tend to have more problems.

I don't rec brewers yeast and this will explain.

It is day 26, whilst jemima was off the eggs having a feed, I rushed out to look at the eggs. They look the same so I put one to my ear and I think I heard a couple of clicks, is this the pipping!

Maybe an internal pip into the air cell, which means it could be another 24 hrs before they break through the egg shell. This is the nerve wracking part for us. Waiting.
Mama hen will be cool as a cucumber.

She came out again for a drink so had another look, not sure if I can hear anything this time. The eggs are not moving or rocking, I am a bit worried 😕

If she comes out again or you feel comfortable slipping your hand under her and pulling each egg out one at a time you can candle to see what's going on. Duckling and chicks too will work a while pipping then rest. It's hard work. Day 26 so all is probably good.

I use a small LED flash light and go into a dim room hold the egg so the light is on the fat end. You should be able to see whats going on since your eggs are white.

Husband went and got an egg and I shut the the curtains and put a throw over my head and shone my mobile torch behind the egg. I could see the air sack with little movements going in and out - so all okay fingers crossed!
