Welsummer Cockerels, Breeder Quality ((GONE)) N. GA

Henry, I know that sometimes it's a rooster's lot in life to be dinner, so I wouldn't say I dont approve, just that I cant process them myself. And I really wish they'd become someone's flock leader or breeder, but I know I can't dictate that.

true I hope at least a few of these boys have a better fate. I understand not being able to process yourself. I have not tried yet but will be learning this summer! and I might try and do some RedBro or even Cornish X's this fall or next spring.

still no Ameraucanas?

i have to admit, the Welsummers are tempting.

beefy, I only hatched two of the six eggs I had and they're both pullets, it looks like. The blue one is in the pics under Raising Chicks and there is a pretty splash girl, too. I thought the blue was a cockerel, but no red or raised comb yet. It's flat as can be.
Here is the RIR cockerel-he moved when I snapped the pic, apparently.

bummer, i was going to be up in the neighborhood this weekend, give or take a couple of hours.

they are nice and dark! and that cockeral is a chunky little guy. will make someone a nice roo.

unfortunately i just dont like RIRs or Buff Orpingtons. just a personal preference.

i may have room for a lot more chickens in the near future if mine dont stay out of my flower pots!

i'm up to 27 now, lol.

What area of the North GA mountains are you in? I'm in upstate SC and the Welsummer pair certainly is tempting...

I'm in Fannin County off the Hwy 60 Spur, right at the NC line. I just got a call that the guy I sold my last batch of boys to lost my number, but that he'll be by to pick up all the extra cockerels tomorrow. If he stands me up, there may still be a pair available.
Beefy, no problem. Everybody likes something different and there's a breed for every taste. I still like you.
