They are very handsome. I just noticed that they are starting to get the shiny blue-green feathers in the saddle area now, some of them anyway. There is a picture of one under Raising Chicks with the thread starting, "Dutch..". Here's one.

I think they're very handsome! My DH even said he may want to keep just one cockerel to see how it turns out; I couldn't believe my ears.

DH decided not to keep a cockerel...and the guy who is was supposed to be here between 10:30 and 11 a.m. is still not here. Grrr. Guess they go to the auction, but it's more in gas than I'd make on the birds since it's an hour away or more. Double Grrrr.

Well, he didnt show up to get the birds today, so they are still available. We may take them to the afternoon auction tomorrow, and even doing well, will spend more on gasoline than we'll make.

I will be getting a pair or trio of Welsummers, and hopefully one or two RIR pullets if I'm lucky.

I didn't pick up any birds today, but I had to drive down to that area today anyway so I took the opportunity to go meet Cyn and the chicks. Oh, and I also had the honor of meeting the fabled Zane and Suede in person!
