In which case, they aren't Welsummers. I'm thinking mixed breed.

hey are having grower pellets, lots of scraps. Same as all my chooks. They were both very sick for about 2 weeks with a respiratory illness and conjunctivitis about 6 weeks ago and lost a lot of weight. They are gaining weight now but I’m sure they are smaller than they would normally be.When did you get them? What are you feeding? They look very stunted to me, no offence meant.

I agree.Baby in last two pictures is likely a cockerel.Note noticeable patchiness in his breast (both genders of this breed feather in differently). The other's looking pullet.
ETA: are you sure they're 4 months?Both look significantly younger, hence why I guessed cockerel on the first. If indeed specified age, chook #2 can't be a Welsummer, as this is the wrong coloration for a female.
