Welsummer cockerels??

i've been looking through lots of photos and posts, and i think they may be RIR x welsummer. they are both much smaller than the pullet who looks like a pure bred welsummer.

i will hold on to them for another month or so to see if sex becomes more obvious.

Here is my 8 month welsummer mutt for reference. She's mixed as well but has the distinct colors. Her legs are yellow it just doesn't look it here... Maybe this helps?

When did you get them? What are you feeding? They look very stunted to me, no offence meant.
hey are having grower pellets, lots of scraps. Same as all my chooks. They were both very sick for about 2 weeks with a respiratory illness and conjunctivitis about 6 weeks ago and lost a lot of weight. They are gaining weight now but I’m sure they are smaller than they would normally be.

That explains a lot. Glad they are getting better. It really stunted them though.

Baby in last two pictures is likely a cockerel. :) Note noticeable patchiness in his breast (both genders of this breed feather in differently). The other's looking pullet.

ETA: are you sure they're 4 months? Both look significantly younger, hence why I guessed cockerel on the first. If indeed specified age, chook #2 can't be a Welsummer, as this is the wrong coloration for a female.

I agree.
