Welsummer not a welsummer!!

So I've thought all this time I've have this girl that she's a welsummer. Orange legs and coloring all match a welsummer. BUT she lays green eggs! I now realize I have an olive egger. Her eggs are a beautiful olive color and she's consistent. I've gotten 2 eggs a day from her 3 times and shes been laying for 2 weeks.

There are duck eggs my red hens' eggs and my olive egger eggs in the crate.

Thank you! She's got a beautiful personality. She loves our attention. She follows us around and if we don't talk to her she pecks at our legs and feet until we say hello. It's adorable!

Since u said u had a neighbor tom duck, any chence a neighbor hen could heve came over and laid it

That bird is NOT a welsummer. It has the wrong color and it has a crest. She is definitely an olive egger.

Just to be clear.. I was told in here that she's a welsummer and not an olive egger. I bought her as a 3 day chick from tractor supply and she was labeled an olive egger. When I posted to ask gender I was told she's not an olive egger bc of the color of her legs.

Nobody really knows why leg colors happen the way they do. I have a yellow legged bird that lays blue eggs, a blue legged girl that lays brown eggs, and a few green and yellow legs that lay Khaki colored eggs. Leg color does not *always* tell you what egg color you're going to get.

Olive eggers have yellow/orange legs a lot. Idk who told you that but they must’ve been mistaken.

Good chance your bird is half welsummer anyway. Her coloring is consistent and they are used to create olive eggers. Likely has some crested cream legbar in her as well.
