welsummer?

Crossbred, maybe an Easter Egger. She is fully mature, I'd say last spring/summers hatch. She doesn't strike me as an old hen.

Mixed breed. You'd have to see her eggs to know if she's carrying a blue shell gene but she has some of the characteristics typical of an easter egger. She's an adult so age is no longer discernable.

she has not given me an egg yet so I will just have to wait and see... not surprised its a cross, the guy I got it from had all sorts of hens and roosters running around his place all mixed together, it was total chicken madness. it was the first time for me buying chickens so lesson learned. the other bird I got was a black copper maran but I think that's pretty accurate. she has not given me an egg yet as well . thank you all for the comments. would like to hear more from you all Otto

Agree they both look like mixed breed birds.

Not sure why you say "lesson learned", unless you paid $$$ for specific pure bred birds. Mixed breeds are perfectly fine backyard birds, laying just as well as pure bred counterparts.

it sure does.... not a tail feather one... is that a trait of some chicken breeds or a defect of some sort?
