Welsummer

Sorry you have roos. I got 16 chicks earlier this year. The little pullets will have almost no comb at that age.

The good news is, the roosters are among the best looking...the Kellogs rooster. You'll just have to get some hens.

I cant take any pictures,(camera is fried) as I have pullets that are that age. See the breast feathers on the pullets pictured the babies will have the same color feathers salmon colored and little or no combs. I would bet your little guys will be crowing soon. My 6 to 8 week olds are.

I live in a city, so I cannot have the roos. What is the best way to find a GOOD home for them? They have been my pets and I dont want them to end up on the grill.
Thanks,

Roosters are very hard to get rid of...as I am finding out....everyone has too many. I am having troble giving away pure bred Marans cockerels.

No kidding! I gave away two gorgeous roos last weekend at a swap: a BC Marans, and a beautiful Blue Ameraucana. Kept the Wellie, since he is a sweetie, and really don't want him to end up as stew.

He's 4 1/2 months old, and just started crowing this week!

It's funny when they first start to crow.

First time I thought, "Was that little croak an attempt to crow?"

Like adolescent boys whose voices crack.

They have combs when hatched if they are roos! I dunno if these will help

I have 2 wellie roos and one hen. You can sex them at day one by looking closely at the eye. The female has a distinct "eyeliner" look around the eye, while the male's appears slightly mottled and not as clear around the eye.
They are beautiful. My big Wellie roo is "squeaky". He's not very manly, and he is scared of his own shadow.
