Some of mine are molting also, but not all of them, I just added some Guineas to the flock also to replace the ones I lost, Everyone is on lock down for at least another month. They all look healthy.

And new members to the flock, ie the Guineas, can stress the established members and maybe stop them laying.

They had already stopped laying when I added the Guineas.

That I am. Well I don't feel new, because BYC has been my go to place since I got my girls. I did just join the forum, though. Friends and family are getting tired of talking Chickens so I need the outlet.

Well, sweet most of the time. I am getting a kick out of watching them when they first come out of the coop in the mornings. They all run up to each other and bump beak and chest. Its like they are re-affirming the pecking order, just to make sure. One of these mornings I am going to get them on video because its so comical.

My chickens too have slowed waaaaaay down in the laying dept. Went from 12 a day to 2-3. They are not an old flock - from 6 mos. to 3 yrs. They have been getting sprouts and fodder almost every day, so it should pick up. I cannot believe they can be in the molting stage for over 2 months. Oh well, I love them anyway.
