a few weeks ago, we picked up a few more laying hens. we'd lost a few over the winter to a predator or two. so i found a guy who had some laying hens. i picked up two brown red ameraucana's, a buff orpington and a wheaten ameraucana. the two brown reds have been laying now for a good week, some days i'll get two greenish blue eggs, a couple of days just one. but we've gathered enough to finally answer something i've wondered since childhood, do i like green eggs and ham? in the morning i'll find out!

ok, breakfast this morning was WONDERFUL! lol, no the ham wasn't green, i think i'd have to throw out green ham, haha. one thing that we found curious tho. we have two brown red ameraucana's and one wheaten ameraucana. I've only seen the two brown reds (Sissy and Missy) on the next, but never Ami (so named because son in law says the beard makes her look amish, no offense to amish people meant) haha. so when DW started breaking eggs, some of them the shells were bluish green inside and out, some of them were bluish green outside, but pale white inside, i would have thought the shells would be the same color inside and out???? maybe the wheaten is actually laying sometimes, i just haven't caught her yet.

anyway, the answer to the question is "YES, i like green eggs and ham"
