My chicks and ducks spent their first night in the new coop together. At the break of dawn I went out to see if they had, to be frank, taken some meat out of eachother.
They were fine, but there is a new pecking order. Big ducks dominate little ducks,..little ducks dominate chickens. The chicks stay to their side,..the ducks to theirs. Of course food introduced it;s like watchign the Jets and Sharks in West Side story,...the chicks head for the duck side,..the ducks go into a corner quak it up and the little ducks go back and pull at the chicks feather til they run off,..I am thinking of getting rid of the cable tv now....this is so entertaining. I keep hearing "when your a jet your a jet all the way from your foirst cigarret til your last dying day..."
Anyhow working on the run today. We decided to put the duyck pond off to the side so they don't make a mess in the main run.
