That is funny,
Dave I will be curious to talk with Jen and see what her idea is, I think she is talking ambient room temperature vs incubator temperature.
now you have my geek side thinking.
now I am going to have to pick up eggs
leave them in a cooler room, one set in a warmer room marked and see what and how they develop hen to rooster ratio.

Now somewhere I read while searching for the link I found, that hatching eggs set aside for 2 weeks still had a good hatch ratio but it didn't say anything about rooster to hen ratio unfortunately.

edited for more thoughts on the subject.

Cindy have you hatched anything with the new incubator yet?

I do have to wonder something though on the temperature fluxes.
and need to ask Val on this as she uses a lyons incubator,
thoughts are the more stable temperatures of the top line Bators vs the constant fluxes with the LG and other styrofoam incubators will have something to do with the ratio and mortality also?

oh the curiosity!

Dave's Dominiques were in the Brinsea. He says 8 out of 10 roos. I also had some bantam cochins before that, and 9 out of 10 roos.

My only good hatch of pullets was in the LG, and that was the first one I did this year.
