Hi hi
Is this wet feather? The ducks take a while to dry after but i have a space heater blowing warm air. I read if this happens to wash them with Dawn so they can restart the preening process. Thoughts?

Also i assume this is a blood feather. Are they normal and okay as long as it doesnt break? This one bled for a couple minutes but clotted pretty quickly so i wasnt comcerned.

Also why are their eyes red. They are almost five weeks old. Their eyes are always like this no matter how clean i keep them and what temp its at.

Theyre on purina all flock. Should i be giving hem additional food?

Lastly is this a start of bumble foot?

What Pirates girl said just not fully water proof do not use dawn on them it will strip them of any oils from their gland they maybe putting on themselves ever washed dishes in dawn it takes all the oils out of my skin in my hands Sure are cute little things good diet too!

How often do they bath?..Definitely not wet feather. The oil gland begins to work and they will oil up. They look to be getting in juvenile feathers so that's why they look a bit off. The down falls out to be replaced by feathers. If in to small of a Brooder? Definitely give them more room.

Why are you washing your ducklings with dawn? Were they exposed to an oil-spill?
You should never put any detergent into their bath, you may have observed that they use the water not only to swim and and clean themselves, they also drink it! Would you drink dawn or any other detergent?

Ducklings raised under ducks are waterproof because the oil from the mamma ducks gets transferred to their feather. Since your ducklings are being raised in brooder they are not waterproof. No need to wash them, just give them time and eventually they will become waterproof on their own.
