We've Caught the Bug!

Hi uncertainty. That is what I have been asking about however I followed someones recommendation from BYC and when checking out their company I found some very good info one HF vs. Farm. Like normal though no for sure recommendation just a vague check with your broker prior to making that decision. Happy Days!

Oh, indeed. It is always something.

Hi, welcome to byc!

Wow, you really did get the bug! Sounds fun.

My "sister in love" is our insurance agent. She did tell us she would have to change our policy (not Liberty Mutual) if we got chickens or any other live stock. I guess she doesn't know I have 13 now, 15 in the mail, and 20 coming in August. What chickens?!

If it isn't the insurance trying to tell you what to do, government sure will. (sigh). Here, I think they intervene or have other rules. You can sell your eggs and chicken (meat) with exemptions if you have under 50 chickens. After that you need.... permits or something to that effect. Also, I think only within your county.

Thank You Chicken Girl for the welcome and the recommended reading. I will definitely check it out. I also plan to do a serious search for some Chocolate Cuckoos! Have a great weekend!

oops.... Eggsighted sounds like you got bitten like we did.

You are so lucky to have your sister in love that is an insurance agent. I think every family should have an insurance agent, a mechanic and an attorney! It is so hard to find one that you feel like you can trust and they are such sketchy areas to navigate, or maybe I am just too light headed to do so!

Good luck and much fun with your newer and bigger flock.

P.S. Don't forget to let your sister know to adjust your insurance accordingly.
