Me. Sorry, but Orpingtons just don't cut it for me. They need to be a little more original than being fluffy and having white shanks. Brahmas at least are bigger, have feathered shanks, a pea comb, and a nice hawk-like appearance of the face. I like my birds different though, not just plain single combed, common, and clean legged/brown eggs/fluffy body. No offense, I do love Orpingtons, they're just not a top pick.
Whiskey Bay - Yes, those Chocolate Pencilled Wyandottes really show how beautiful chocolate pencilling is!! It's like caramel drizzled with chocolate. A beautiful treat.
NYREDS - There isn't an Orpington craze, just a Lavender Orpington one. Orpingtons are just as common and popular as Production Reds, Australorps, and Plymouth Rocks. If anything, people are crazy about Orpingtons in general because they don't realize Buff is available in a LOT of other breeds, and Orpingtons aren't the only large and fluffy breed out there.
no one can predict what the next big thing will be, but i see herritage breeds trending up(the good old classics like RIR), and there's been some good interest in breeds like araucanas, with their rumpless appearance they stand out from the crowd, the tufts add something as well, and those blue egg are soo pretty!

I'm totally with you but something new would be compared to something already existing.(EXAMPLE: Langshan) The Langshan was compared to a bad Cochin or Brahma at one time. It would take a very long time before it would be accepted as what it would be, a new breed. I'm honestly worried about the La Fleche in the States. Good point that you brought up though. Made me think!

I could have sworn I saw someone have white ones recently. I will try and look to see where I saw it.
That's who it was...Yellow House Farm. But I bet you already knew that.
Yep, I did! Joseph won't have anything available till the fall. In my search, it was suggested I try Craig Russell from the SPPA. Still trying to reach him. He's "only" a four hour drive from me.
