What’s In A Name?

Pics
My name comes from our most favorite dog ever. He was Sergeant Mickey Peppercorn. He was a very large Dalmatian and our love for him continues although he's been gone for many years. We named our farm "Peppercorn Acres" and have an egg business. So naturally I am "Peppercorngal". I'm a retired woman with 30 chickens, 4 dogs and one husband! Born and raised in California and still here.

I remember my mom sometimes calling me 'smart cookie' and sometimes 'smart potato'. When she called my sister smart cookie I would get mad because I wanted to be a cookie and not a potato. :gig:smack Little me logic.:idunno
Oh my goodness I love the pet names the parents gave you all. I was called idjit by my Dad. I didn't know until I was an adult that the name means an idiot! My Mom called me Sadie Thompson. Sadie was a prostitute character in a 1928 movie. I thought that was a great name too, at the time! :lau :wee :lau :wee

That is really cool. I like the name Peppercorn. It is different, but I could see me calling my dog that. :D

Okay, this is funny. And I thought idjit just meant one who’s kind of fidgety, but then again I’ve never really thought about it.

And then to be called the name of a prostitute is hilarious. At least it was her given name and not a synonym. :gig

My dad always called me bubble butt. He surely didn’t mean anything by it but I think he gave me a complex. :lau

Your Dad actually called you bubble butt? Wow, I thought my parents names were sort of mean! I don't think my parents meant anything negative about the names they called me, they loved me dearly. Your Dad probably meant that name in the most loving manner as well. At least I hope so! It's pretty funny when you look back on some of the names you were called, huh? I am white, but have very curly hair naturally and when I was in grammer school I was called Buckwheat! I kind of liked it! :gig
