Your Daddy was absolutely right. Good story tellers are dangerous.![]()

As with all things.... When a family shelters their youth.... For reasons *they* see as truth... Time has germinated seeds that take a generation to bear fruit.... Often times the flavor is far from the parents anticipated sweetness or mildness.... Often has been seen by mine own eyes... The sprouts foliage was much more complex and colorful then was expected by the parents.... Some, parents I had seen ....... Couldn't accept and sadly didn't let go of their expectations.... Others threw up their hands is wonder and enjoyed the surprise.I was being a little tongue-in-cheek rogueish with that comment honestly, but it's an interesting conversation as well.
The ability to connect with people though words is a very powerful tool. By itself, it is a talent like many others. When used for entertaining or for educating, it can be a useful ally. However, when used to manipulate and amplify the darker side of humanity, that same talent can be cruel and vengeful.
Just depends on who's using it and who they're using it for or against.
EX:
"Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise?"
Coming from the Palpatine, this is a tale spun to ensare a conflicted headstrong jedi and start him down a darker path. Were this a conversation with Yoda, it would have been a lesson on the dangers of power and to rise above your base instincts. Same story, 2 angles. It's all about how the tale is spun, and by whom.
Boring? Hardly. Thank you for sharing, @Ursuline Chick.my on BYC name is boring
So, this post was extremely interesting, not just the content, but the style in which it was written. However, it also left me giggling as parts of it (“online/offline”) left me reminiscing on a favorite song that is some 13+ years old. I just couldn’t help myself! I had to post it. Please enjoy! There are many, other details, layers and flavors to take note of from this dual purpose life (online and *off*)...
That's a wonderfully cute reminiscing song. And I'd like to share a little more back story... Every one of those online social/blog sites was "born" and friends IRL asked me to join them on those site... Eventually There.... I would occasionally gain *online only* friends. The overwhelming number of friends on all these media sites were folks that know/knew me IRL before hand..... So I was as authentic online as I was in person. A g33k. A trusted ally, a "big brother" of sorts given that I have several years on all those college kids... Some time later I was called a term by a college degree counselor, that became a movie title that same year(?) which starred Danny DeVito. Perhaps you might recall it from way back then? So, this post was extremely interesting, not just the content, but the style in which it was written.
