I have a male turkey named Reggie, and today I noticed something on his snood. We were taking selfies (don’t judge, I love my turkey) and I saw it. It’s like scabs on his snood. What is it?

It is scabs on his snood. If there are other turkeys present, it is most likely due to a snood pulling contest.

There is only one other turkey and she is a handicap female.

There is only one other turkey and she is a handicap female.

They can be from her if she grabbed his snood due to some reason that he was bothering her or he could have rubbed it against the fence. No matter how he did it, it is just minor scabs and will heal fine.

Thanks. I was just worried because he’s so sweet I dont want him to be hurt. They talk about puppy love but for me it’s turkey love lol
