What’s this?

I have two chicks supposedly australorps, and they have a funny thing on their head. Just wondering what it was and maybe if they aren’t full australorp, could they maybe be crossed with a brahma? They are about 4 weeks old. Here are some photos

I tried to get good photos but I’m just wondering what that little raise in feathers on their head is.

Could he a brahma crossed with a crested bird. Brahmas don't have crests.

Could be, I have a 2 silkie x many other random breads that I hatched a few years ago so maybe it could have taken the crest from one of those girls, looks similar. I’m not sure why they wouldnt have taken the 5 toes though. What do you think? Also doesn’t have any feathers on the legs

I have three silkie crosses, and only one took the five toes gene.

4, I was wondering if it was silkie x but only 4 toes. My other silkie x doesn’t have this

Silkie crosses can have 4 toes, I have a couple like this.
