My Salmon Faverolle’s feet keep getting worse. We had tried to use misters for a period of time to keep our chickens cool from the southern ca heat & it seems like it caused nothing but health issues. Chickens ended up with coccidiosis/worms. We’ve done the first round of treatment for the parasites & my rooster’s feet keep getting worse & I don’t know what it’s from. I don’t feel like it’s related to the parasites but maybe I’m wrong? It’s only his feet though. All of my hens & other rooster are fine. My other rooster has some redness on his feet that almost look like a sunburn, but nothing even close to my Salmon Faverolle. It looks like the far right toe on his left foot is almost missing or something. I’ve circled what I’m referring to in red on one of the pics. I did take multiple pics, some similar to the other but just trying to get all views he’ll let me get. I also included one of the other rooster, he is all black with bare legs.

Can you pick him, hold him and have someone take better photos?
From what I can see, looks like broken feathers. Could be another bird is picking at the feet or he may be picking at his own feet.

Clean them up well, dry them, then apply a thin coat of vaseline, nustock or hen healer - it won't hurt him.

Looks like leg mites... and he's probably pecking/picking off the lifted scale.
Have you checked the rest if your flock?
I have. None of the others seem to have it that I can tell. I don’t know what to do. Ever since those misters it has literally been nothing but problems. I just found one of my girls dead in the coop yesterday afternoon & other than some feather loss at the base of her tail, I didn’t suspect any issues that were life threatening. Now I’m seeing 2 of my hens look like the color has drained from their faces to a very pale pink. I juu
Ste my other rooster’s comb & wattles have black spots that are covering large areas. On one of his wattles, it looks like something has eaten away at it. He’s got a half circle chunk missing of i that reminds me part of his wattles ha

I use food grade diatomaceous earth to keep the mites at bay ... I sprinkle it in the nest boxes and all over the coop... maybe about weekly... on dry days I also sprinkle it where the girls dust bathe ...

After years back I added a few girls because someone brought them to me ... one of them had leg mites... and since then I seem to have 1 with those darned things 😡 The last lady to have them was just awful to look at & then she started picking off the scales & it became even worse... she was old & not very nice so a few months back she was 1st culled

About the black spots on the waddled... perhaps pecking? If it was winter I'd guess a bit of frostbite... evidence of past frostbite will leave black or ashy looking spots

I would be concerned about finding a seemingly healthy hen dead in the coop ... I've lost older hens to heat... how is the ventilation in your coop? Is it stifling hot or humid?

If its leg mites, get your old cooking oil in a tub, they can stand in do this for 3 days / 3 nights quick dip in count to 10 and it should clear and kill the mites, its amazing how the mists gone and legs return to normal. cold cooking oil Good luck. (
