What’s your number 1 favorite duck breed and why ?

My number one favorite would have to be Rouens.
They’re cold hardy, they can’t fly so you don’t have to worry about them flying off somewhere, they’re okay layers, they’re very calm and quite quiet and they’re just beautiful. They're like big mammoth mallards

My fav has always been the Cayuga! They're stunning in their blackness with the green tinge its gorgeous! I had a flock of them a couple years ago and they were something the neighbors wanted to bring the grandchildren to see. Also dont fly like those Rouens you love but Bonus they lay a colored egg! I learned that keeping ducks is hard but their quacks melt my heart like childrens laughter. Cant properly keep them at this time so i dont have any pics sorry

Definitely Muscovies. They're not noisy, a little odd, and they come in a bunch of cool colors! Plus they're so fun to watch when they talk to each other with their crests up and their heads bobbing everywhere.

Indian Runners! Have five fawn and white, two drakes, three girls, and they are always fun to watch. They look like they are wearing brown sweaters and white shorts and run like little dinos. And who can resist a little, shy duck approaching you and asking for some meal-worms?

Gosh that is a hard one since I have 3 breeds. But My all time favorite has to be Muscovy I started out with them and they are just such cool birds.
Then Runners, so different from the Muscovy's. Such clowns.
Last but not least is my 2 Buffs who actually think they are Runners. Just the best group anyone could ask for.

CALL DUCKS are my favorite. Lots of personality in a tiny box.
They can fly, but they have good homing instinct, so even if mine fly around the property, they come right back. The females are very loud when they QUACK, but they mostly only do it when they see me coming and want out. They are decent layers of chicken-sized eggs, they can be found in many beautiful colors. They can also tolerate more drakes per flock because hens and drakes usually pair up and stick with each other.
Oh and they are a fun challenge to incubate and hatch!
