What’s your favorite duck breed and why ?

Muscovies for sure! I've had mallard derived breeds before, but I just love the look and behavior of a muscovy. I love the sound and tail wags too!

I have six muscovies right now. Four ducks and two drakes. I need to get a few more ducks. It's a win-win situation, the boys get more females and I get more ducks! ;)

Almost a complete group shot. Just missing the younger silver drake.

This drake is between six and eight months old.

Why does it seem like everyone else can get clean pictures of Pekins ? Mine never are clean.
Mine are clean for the first 2 minutes after they swim - but that's it! I'm sorry to hear about the lady backing out on ya... Hopefully the other people will take him too. It's great that you even found someone who will take all males!

The only ducks I have ever had are pekins and buffs. I enjoy both and I honestly would not be able to pick a favorite. I also don't want to hurt there feelings :p! Here are some pics:

I have Swedish ducks and Khaki Campbells. I prefer the Swedish, they have been consistent layers, their eggs are huge, they are docile, they make cute noises, the drake is good to his girls and never aggressive towards people, they are fairly calm (I had one escape the other day and she was easy to catch even though they are not really used to being handled), I'm fairly certain at least 2 of my girls would brood if I gave them a little encouragement instead of stealing eggs for breakfast, they cannot fly (for me I think this is a good characteristic).

The KCs are smaller, lay smaller eggs, noise level is about the same, they can fly a bit, they are more nervous and a bit flighty in personality by comparison, not as calm.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully they will take him but if not would he be able to stay with you?
I am worried about keeping him for two reasons. He is so big I am afraid he will hurt the little KC when mating and possibly Rou ( see my thread called Recovery ) , my special needs Rouen. The other reason is that he would probably fight with the runner drake Bandit. Bandit would have no chance.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you @Texag87 :fl

I understand how you feel, owning a massive Jumbo Pekin drake myself, when I first brought Eeyore home I couldn't help having my doubts about the safety of my hens. But he won my heart instantly, that huge fluffy head, and gentle disposition. I also have a special needs hen, Mushroom, who seems to have multiple disorders, but I absolutely love her.

Calls! Hands down coolest ducks ever. I love mine so much. They are waaaay friendlier than all my standard ducks. They fly down to the creek in the field every day and say hello to the piggies. When it gets dark, they march into their little dog house and I lock them in for the night.
I do love my big fat Rouen, Abby and my Welsh Harlequin pair. Oh, and if I can have yet another pick, I'd choose my Magpie hen. She is shy, sweet and quiet. That's right, quiet. My Cayugas are the loudest and the best layers. They are still my least favorite.
