What’s your favorite duck breed and why ?

Calls! Hands down coolest ducks ever. I love mine so much. They are waaaay friendlier than all my standard ducks. They fly down to the creek in the field every day and say hello to the piggies. When it gets dark, they march into their little dog house and I lock them in for the night.
I do love my big fat Rouen, Abby and my Welsh Harlequin pair. Oh, and if I can have yet another pick, I'd choose my Magpie hen. She is shy, sweet and quiet. That's right, quiet. My Cayugas are the loudest and the best layers. They are still my least favorite.View attachment 1640683 View attachment 1640684 View attachment 1640685
That last picture :lau now there's a pig
I gotta agree with you, calls are adorable and funny. I adore mine. Do you ever have problems with having just one hen with your two drakes?

This is my first year with them. I admit, I am a little worried about it. With my standards, I can only have one drake, no matter how many hens. Kinda weird, though. The greyer of the two drakes thinks that I'm his girlfriend or something. He behaves oddly towards me. I have never seen him mount her. The other two act like normal ducks.
Oh, and yes --- Whipple Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight is the queen of pigs. I adore her.

I've had some ganders treat me as their mate. They were bachelors looking for someone to love. At least you're not having any issues as of right now, though, I don't think it would be a bad idea to add a few hens.

I love your pig, and that name.

I have nine runners, and I can't imagine funnier. more entertaining ducks exist. I love to watch them parade, upright and single file, across the yard. Claire, the one runner who has some slight ability to fly, is the most shy but LOVES to be in the water. Anytime she can plop into a pool, she is thrilled. The hens are far from being songbirds, but I like their noisy chatter. It sounds as if they are laughing about some joke that only ducks would understand.

Lookin for love in all the wrong places.
I'll definitely keep an eye come spring. I'm going to let her hatch out her babies so hopefully the numbers will even out. If need be, I can give away the extra drakes.

That pig is such a .... pig. Just the sweetest, gentlest thing ever. You touch her belly and down she goes!

:lau love the duck on the pig pic!

Hopefully it will work out for him to go with the other 2 drakes.
Hopefully it will work out for King and George and Mocha. The only reason they have to go is because they are male. King is just plain big. George has been the most curious since the brooder. Whoever George winds up with will be required to send us nuptual plumage pics. Mocha (KC) is the ultimate fly catcher. He was catching flies in the brooder.i have two emergency plans . One, they go in the crock pot. The second is theY are cut loose in the stock tank

Sorry for the wait. It’s so hard to get photos of them.
This is all I could get, the other 2 ran away when I got my phone out
