My chicken coop right now is 30 because its colder but its usually 40. So how can I make the chicken coop warmer naturally. (I know chickens are hardy birds) but on colder days I'm wondering.

You don't want it warmer. You want it dry.My chicken coop right now is 30 because its colder but its usually 40. So how can I make the chicken coop warmer naturally. (I know chickens are hardy birds) but on colder days I'm wondering.
My coop is dry and I've been removing poop every morning. Am I doing good? lol and I covered all the areas where drafts have been coming in. I can get pictures later thank youYou don't want it warmer. You want it dry.
Chickens keep themselves warm by fluffing their feathers to trap in body heat.
For a dry coop you need lots of ventilation to bring in fresh air and remove moist air.
You also don't want to over populate your coop.
Can you post pictures of your coop?
If you aren't covering up ventilation, you're doing great. My coop is dry and I've been removing poop every morning. Am I doing good? lol and I covered all the areas where drafts have been coming in. I can get pictures later thank you
Yes, it used to stink in there coop but after all my touch ups it hasn't stunk for a while plus me removing all the poop. But thank you for you helpIf you aren't covering up ventilation, you're doing great.
Thank you. It is prob 30 outside and 30 inside as well. Bedding is all dry and no smellTemps and humidity should be about the same inside the coop as outside it.
If it's warmer/wetter inside, you don't have enough ventilation.
30 outside and 30 inside... Summer!![]()
