What do you think about these black copper marans? I'm planning on taking a look at them tomorrow, but it's tricky (for me) to tell from the pics which are males and which are females. The one standing on the water bowl looks like a dude to me, but I'm far from certain about this.

I don't have much experience with this, and only realised I was the proud owner of a silkie rooster a couple of years ago when "she" started crowing. These birds are 9-12 weeks old, apparently. Thanks!

Can you get some closer shots? It's difficult to see them well with the distance of the shots and the chicken wire in front of them.

The only girl i see in the first pic is the one on the left by herself. and on the bottom one the top one is the girl, it's probably the same one though.

This is what the seller has sent me. Should it be easy to tell the sex of the birds "in person", or is it still difficult at this age? What should I be looking for?

Btw - in the middle of which picture?

Ooops, crossed posts there. I see the hen FVRM is talking about now.

When you get there look for the smallest combs you can find. Also, roosters tend to have a bigger body at this age. But looking at the photos I see one maybe two pullets, the rest are boys.

Thanks, everyone! I hope they have more than one likely-looking hen when I get there...
